I woke up this morning a bit more hungover than I intended and immediately left the house. At Restaurant Depot, the cooler was too cold and outside the cooler was too warm. I was sweaty and thirsty but I muscled through and loaded all of my items in the car. Walking around to the driver’s side door, I realized that I had locked my keys in the car. This kind of thing happens to me on a regular basis. I am nearly constantly in a state of looking for my debit card or identification. I’ll stub my toe, or forget my wallet, or casually break my cell phone. I have been a reckless hazard to myself and others my entire life. It’s a part of myself that I love and accept and most of the time find to be hilarious. Those closest to me have also come to know chaos as part of my personality and I like to think that they get a kick out of it as well. So I called a locksmith and then went about the rest of my day.
It rained all day while I made soup which is my favorite thing. At work I listened to a This Is Taylor Swift. Then the most recent episode of Lovett or Leave It. Then 60 Songs That Explain The 90’s. I wholeheartedly recommend these podcasts. And Taylor Swift, obviously. I made Pasta Fagioli (vegan), Sausage Tortellini, and Mushroom Gnocchi Parm (vegetarian). These soups will be available on Wednesday at Linea Verde Green Market.
This coming weekend is Little Italy Days. Thyme Machine will be closed but will be open again the following weekend starting with Saturday, August 26. You can find my soups at Linea Verde Green Market while we are away.
I would like to thank everyone who has donating to John’s surgery and everyone who reached out to me about assisting with his aftercare. I appreciate everything from the bottom of my heart. John’s surgery has been scheduled for September 13 and if you would like to make a donation or read more about it, you can do so here.
This summer has been quite difficult but lately I’ve been feeling comfortably connected to the people in my life and for that I am incredibly grateful. There are a lot of pretty large developments on the horizon for brothmonger and I’m looking forward to the time when I’m able to share them all with you.
Thank you for subscribing
I love you
