I wouldn’t call this a rant, more like a really great idea. “Something better to talk about”. Yes! It’s thought provoking writing to stretch our hands and hearts out to each other. “How are you doing today, neighbor?” Then just listen.

Everybody says "be present." It's such a blerrgh cliché at this point. So how are you supposed to be present or in the moment if you have to constantly think of what's next?

You mentioned that you like to travel. When you're enjoying someplace, you don't have to immediately plan where you're going next, IMO. You can just enjoy where you are.

When people ask questions that are annoying, no matter how well-intentioned they are, I think it's just fine to turn the question around. "What's next for you?" Anyway, I don't think you're being whiny at all. I love that you share with us what's happening with you. In the meantime, I hope you'll take the advice you gave your sister – just breathe, give yourself a break.

As for me, I'm thrilled you’ll be devoting more time to mongering!
